Actor/Writer/Facilitator
I am an Actor, Writer and Facilitator (all round creative), who is passionate about creating work that showcase’s black excellence and shine’s the light on African diaspora stories and impact’s change.
I was awarded the Arif Hussein Award on my MA course at Mountview Academy of theatre arts (completed in June 2023) for my community work with young people. My work aims to share the beauty of marginalised stories that are so often underrepresented or silenced, and is centred around themes of identity, race, home, womanhood and belonging.
I am an actor performing in both theatre and on screen, some of my credits include: Kitty Mac in Flip a beat, directed by Grace Gibson at Theatre503. Stuck (short film) produced by NYFA. Performer in Here is Home. writer and divisor in Aunt Flo’s School for girls Sparkfest digital. Live performer in the Drip by Amelia Pica. Mrs Weiss and Ladybird in Zawe Ashtons Skunk directed by Ed Viney. Gigi in He’s just not that into you (Bath productions). The Duke in Measure for measure (Bath spa production, Sparkfest). Narrator for Password protected (IMDb scripted reading).
I also facilitate and run workshops, using drama as my way in. I work with all age groups but am partially interested in working with young people age 13-17.
I write my own poetry and devise theatre and will performing No but … Where are you really from? A dramatised spoken word performance that I have written at Theatre Peckham on the 10th of May 2024 I hope to see you there!
